- Staff Accountant
For an accounting firm servicing predominantly Spanish speakers (Fernando Suarez & Co., Inc. – Philadelphia, PA): prepare Federal, State and Local income tax returns for individuals and businesses; establish general accounting systems for clients, including verifying, allocating and posting business transactions to subsidiary accounts; accompany clients to IRS audits; complete forms for tax refunds; prepare quarterly and monthly reports to Account Supervisor; and supervise assigned bookkeeper.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years of accounting experience. Experience must include interpreting and applying State and Federal accounting rules and regulations for tax accounting, reviewing and interpreting financial and technical documents, verifying compliance with State and Federal accounting rules and regulations, reviewing and analyzing accounting records transitions.
- Knowledge of State and Federal Statutes, codes and regulations governing public sector accounting functions and Generally Accepted Accounting and Auditing Principles for public sector financial administration.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks software and QuickBooks online, TaxWise systems, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Fluency in Spanish.
Work Location: Philadelphia, PA.
Hours: 40 per week - Monday through Friday.
